I'm guessing he said it to get the heat, if any, off of himself. Also, suggesting that he'd [Eugene] kill himself because he was gay infers that he [Vito] hasn't killed himself because he's straight.

Or maybe he just wanted to see the reaction of others for that if it were true, did he do the right thing in killing himself due to the fact that he was a "homo". This was possibly done so that if Vito did come clean later on, he would like to see if it would bother the guys.

Also on Vito, when he farted in Tony's house while eating Tony's food, does anyone else think that he was in his own comfort zone, thinking that one day that will be him - in Tony's position (owning a great big house, relaxing on the expensive furniture and just laying back relaxing while watching some tv).

I was hoping Paulie or somebody heard him fart....that would of made for a funny scene with someone telling him off....

I didn't mean to infer that you thought/said Eugene was gay. I was meaning that Vito was suggesting it... . I think the previous poster could be right; Vito might have been "feeling out" the crew. It's not farfetched to believe.

It's not farfetched at all seeing that we have seen Vito in some sort of gay scene and for the whole gay bit to come out of Vito would suggest that he is in fact gay and just afraid to come out because he is in the mob and I believe that if you are gay that you are taken out. Don't hold me to that, that's just what I remember hearing. Either way, I believe the whole gay thing is the main reason for Vito's downfall which I believe will happen this season.

hey no problem man.....

i thought also that maybe he said that because that was really how he felt about himself....being in the closet and not being able to tell anyone.....

No matter what you think of gay's (let's not get into that debate lol), that's gotta be tough on Vito. That has to be a considerable weight to carry (haha, I'm not going to touch that one)...I'm sure he's thought about suicide more than once...

Was a it a mere coincidence that Vito made the Marvin Gaye reference, to the uncle shooting the nephew?

Am I imagining things or is Vito back to being fat already?

Yes, his comment was made to see the reaction of others. He's probably thought about suicide rather than coming out of the closet to Tony and the rest of the gang.

didnt get the marvin gaye line(was in kitchen), but that might be a preview of how he is will accidently blurt out the truth one day or just give in and confess.
he is making so much publicity for atkins already, so he might soon just speak out how cool gayness is for him.

I'm suprised that the family is allowing him to be so public (ie, ad's, etc) with his weight loss. That puts him in the media; if he were a Capo, the news would know (most likely) and jump on that. Imagine the press? "Soprano family Capo Vito, is now a spokesman for..." -- bad for business.

Frankly, I thought that little bit was over the top. Chase can do better to show why Vito is going down. We all know it is going to happen already. He doesn't need to play the "gay" angle anymore. Certainly that will be part of the issue that brings him down.

I guess I am saying Chase could use more subtlety in this. It has nothing to do with political correctness. It's more a plot thing. I hate it when a director/producer tries to circle/highlight things. Trust that the audience is smart enough to "get it." Usually he does this, but for some reason, so far not with this.

Gaye's father shot him following a Sunday morning shouting match April 1, 1984. Thats why Vito said, "He marvin gayed his own nephew"

I don't think Vito is going to make it out of Season 6 alive. And I think his homosexuality is going to somehow play a part in his demise.

The audience is being hit over the head with his gayness.

Well this is the thing. If Tony dies, and Vito's ambitions to become boss come to fruition, then there's nothing holding him back from disappearing Finn to keep his secret.

Anybody else notice, or am I making too much outta it that Meadow, talking to Carm (I think) says:

"Finn is coming out."

On the surface, he's coming out to NJ from dental school, but given the undercurrent, and the fact that in Episode 1 he looked bored when Meadow was dancing for him, maybe he's "coming out" another way?

Finn's coming out, and never-married Uncle June was hiding in the closet. Where's Vito?

Did anyone else think Vito was going to make a move on AJ when he offered to take him home?

Luckily for AJ, Paulie trying to gain favor was the one to drive "Van Helsing" home.

I thought so to, at first. 'Why did they need to shoehorn this in there?' I thought.

But the second time I saw it, I was weirded out - because the scene directly before that had Sil saying something like "Maybe the poor guy suffered from some inoperable cancer."

Could it be?

So, was there a preview for next week?? If so, where can I find it? Haven't been able to find anything on the HBO site.
