I like this quote, as we all know the answer, but it's not what he was expecting.

Leading on from this, he really was a tad naive on the boat, he was properly 'checking out the boat', and such like, and really wasn't expectant of what was coming.

Ironically, had he eaten the food that made him sick, he would have been in bed, and wouldn't have been killed. Well, not at that point anyway.

I think he expected it, but he was dealing with some pretty serious denial. It's similar to when Adrianna got into the car with Silvio. Deep down, they both knew what could (and probably would) happen, but at the same time they didn't want to believe the people they loved would do something like that.
