Lack of emotion in AJ ???????

I don't know if this has been brought up, but when Tony and Carm came out of the counslers office, AJ was still there and a couple of classmates were killed in a car crash. Thats why Tony bought AJ the SUV because it was a "TANK". But what really caught my attention was when the counsler asked Carm how AJ was coping with the death of a classmate. She replied that he hasn't even mentioned it, so maybe AJ isn't bothered by death or he has a lack of feelings for others. Kind of like his Dad?

a good point, but honestly I don't know whether AJ could "survive" any better than his dad. Tony is tough and smart in his own way, but he has had some luck and some close calls in the past...plus he is really struggling with being in the mob life, just as AJ would. The question is: Is AJ as lucky as his Dad or will his luck run out like Jackie Jr's?

If A.J. was to assume his father's position at the end of the six season as it has been suggested in the above quote it would require a great deal of character progression within the next two seasons. A.J. has not shown any indication of being able to garner not only the respect of those around him but he does not in anyway instill fear in people as Tony does. The amount of Character progression which would be required to achieve a total transformation in the perception of A.J. would require more time than the remaining two seasons. It is because of this fact that I do not see the six season climaxing with A.J. assuming Tony's position.<img src=http://www.ezboard.com/images/emoticons/devil.gif ALT=":evil">

For the most part, guys don't show their emotions as openly as girls. Plus, AJ might not have known the students that were killed. If there are 500+ students at his school, he's not going to be friends with everyone, especially underclassmen.

Then again, maybe he's just a cold hearted prick.

When I see AJ I think that he is proberly what Bob Bacula was like as a kid or even Junior. So he is cut out for this life, he will never take Tony's place in the mob world if Tony is killed soon but maybe as time goes buy and when he is about Tony's age, who knows.

Yeah, not to mention some time in "The Sopranoverse". AJ will be 18 when the show is over. AJ won't be even made when the show is over.

AJ won't be taking over for Tony by the end of Season 6, that wouldn't be believable anyways given the fact there are so many others in line in front of him.

What I do think will happen and will be the tragic ending for the Sopranos at the end of Season 6 is that AJ enters the mob life (and is at least more successful then Jackie Jr.)

It's interesting you bring up the antisocial personality disorder, which is applied to most criminals (at least the career ones.) Originally, psychologist applied to term "Sociopath" to such criminals, but this is no longer in use.
