Whats with the clips driving in Vegas

Am I the only one to think that when Tony get to Vegas and when he was getting divin around or was driving i dont remmeber, but why did they do the whole opening scene theme. Them showing lanmarks and like he was driving to his new home. Tell me if im just fucking thinging to much into that.

I have to admit I thought of the tunnel at the beginning of the credits when they filmed the tunnel in Las Vegas. Maybe "got yourself a gun" is about to take on a whole new meaning.

well, chris wanted a taxi...there he has it.
ok, tony stole that and his life and the girl too, but its almost the same you must admit :).

just what im thinking atm at least, after somebody over on imdb mentioned tonys display, when he is about to call 911 after chris asks for a taxi, is almsot identical to the tunnel.

When watching these scenes I thought they were WAY out of place. They seem so psudo-indie movie to me. Like something in Lost in translation, or sideways, or Garden State, or something of that ilk... BUT this puts a whole new light on the shots. Perhaps it is foreshadowing Tony moving out west when he becomes a snitch and ruins the lives of everyone else he is close to.
