Did anyone make much of the first scene with the man telling the kid "Don't you know what's on your food? . . . Asbestos?" The kid looks blank faced and says "What's that?"
I think this might represent AJ's ignorance to the violence his family lives on. In the past the show has made a point of connecting the food they eat with the means by which they get that food. Most memorably in the episode where TOny remembers his first panic attack.
The kid's food is tainted by the asbestos and he doesn't even know what asbestos is. In this episode AJ is loving his new power but when he finally sees first hand what it is all about (unjustified violence), he finally learns what is really on his food and what has always been on his food.
And on a side, I love that AJ is shown to be way more moral than Tony.
"Not to be depressed, you who have to stick your head so far up your ass all you could see is your own stupid face." And this is exactly what Tony does in the wake of killing his nephew.
