the subtle duck clues continue. when tony's laying in his bed right after the accident and right before silvio walks in, ducks can be heard outside. tony actually seems to notice them but is quickly distracted by the housekeepers knock announcing Sil.

I just watched the episode and it isn't ducks, it is crows. They are clearly "cawing". The episode is being filmed during the fall and that is when the crows make their appearance. There are ducks present when the asbestos is being dumped at the end of the episode.

Also, when Tony throws away the Cleaver mug (a reminder of Chrissy, their tumultous relationship and the murder) he throws it into the bushes that look suspiciously like the bushes the ducks used to come out of.

i guess thats the question people have been trying to answer since the pilot episode when they 1st showed up and became a big part of the 1st season. there seems to be sevearl references to the ducks throughout the final episodes, especially the 1st one in season 6b. some people speculate the final episode will involve the return of the ducks to tony's pool

Even though nobody can say for sure, a lot of people think ducks are symbolic of Tony's family.

finally had a chance to relisten and i'm not ready to give up on the noise outside his window being ducks. i admit there not classic quacks but i don't think there crows either. it's tony's reaction as well. they wake him up and he almost seems to want to look before he's interupted "could they have returned?". i just see it leading up to a scene back in the pool where the show started

The ducks represented Tony's family. They were an integral theme in season one and with all the talk of the series coming full cirle, people are paying attention to any reference to ducks.

The black bird Chris saw when he was being made may have "returned" as the crow during this episode when he died. Perhaps the ducks are metaphors for Tony's impending demise.
