How many episodes do you think before Blundetto turns back to family life and gives up trying to go straight?

Come on now it would be no fun if he stayed out of the way the whole season, I think getting the cash from Feech is foreshadowing of how easy the money is and too hard to resist.

...as long as he doesn't turn into a carbon copy of Richie Aprilo...

he will be back with tony. i'm glad to see tony having someone he might be able to talk to he sure is going through a lot and carmela isn't helping any. i think blundetto will be the bond that holds tony together right now.

^ I seriously doubt tony blundetto is going to be anything good to Tony...I think him and feech are the apriles this season.

I have to say that I didn't much like the character of Blundetto.

Half of the time, he's a morose wet blanket, and half he's a smiling prankster. He wants "out of the family," yet he hangs out at the Bing, playing poker with the boys.

I'm sure Chase will develop him further, but he was very hard to read at first.

I really didn't care for the character too much. Then again, it's only his 1st episode.

I enjoyed his character. He was probably the most original character the show has given us since Janice. I don't see him getting mobbed up till at least Episode Six. I don't think Tony would do anything to harm him. I agree with The Times article that he is Tony Sopranos sad sack alter ego. I thought he presented some of "Rat Pack's" best moments. The drunken phone call from Tony near the end was priceless. And I loved all the stuff about him being a chiropracter.

I agree harmony2k66, he is defiantly a more original character than I expected. Steve Buchemi is great. The one thing that cracked me up was when Tony was asking how he was doing (during his drunk phone call) Tony B. said "ahh, my moms on my case." It just seems so funny coming from a mobster. Who by the way is living in his mom's basement (I know he's just getting back on his feet, but you got to admit its funny seeing these characters so out of their element).

I thought the line about his mom being on his case was hilarious. I am rewatching this episode again, and I'm thinking how this show is even more original now. If this was Season Two Or Three, Feech or Blundetto would have already gone and pissed someone off. The fight between Blundetto and Tony was a lot more believable. That it would be about TOny B taking his family lineage too far, with the jokey s***.

I can't wait to see how his Blundetto's daughter plays out in the rest of the season.

I don't see why people are so upset with Blundetto. It's only been an episode. You know in about five episodes he will be one of the most interesting things on the show. Just look at the casting coup. They wouldn't put Buschemi in a Ralphie/Richie rehash. Feech/Loggia, maybe.

That line really cracked me up as well Jeannie. It was almost like they were still in High School. The entire conversation. Tony S on one end, drunk, Tony B on the other, blurry and half awake. Very funny stuff.

I definitely agree. First of all, Buscemi probably wouldn't have joined the cast unless the part was good. He wouldn't have played a one-dimensional badass who causes trouble for Tony all the time. I think that the writers don't want to use the same plotlines over and over again.

I found Steve Buscemi to be absolutely delightful.

I loved his demeanor, the jokes he made, the massage angle. I think his (formerly?) close relationship to Tony will pay off in big drama for the show.

I for one am cheering for him to remain straight (even though I doubt it will happen). Maybe he can become more like the Tony S. of season one who was more ambivalent about mob-life and its downsides.

Anyway, I think Tony B is one the best characters to emerge on the show in a long time. I also like Feech and his gravelly-voiced stories but I don't think he's nearly as original as Blundetto.
